The stars must have been properly aligned during September, 2008 as I was in the right place at the right time. I was working with a realtor to purchase a new home as my family was going to relocate to
Houston, when I saw a gentleman in a truck with an All Star Audio Video sign on the door. I requested a business card as I knew we were going to have a home theater in whatever home we purchased, and that day I meet Mike Lawless. We moved into our new home in November and it was not until December that I began to accept bids on the conversion of a 5th bedroom into a home theater. I had Mike’s card, and called him along with three other companies to bid the project. I have a frame of reference on home theaters as I h ad one in my previous home. After accepting the bids and realizing that a couple of the companies did not have stores where I could hear and see the equipment, my list of possibilities shortened. A few months went by as I got busy with other projects, and then reactivated my desire to build this home theater. I was driving down Richmond Avenue one day and I saw All Star Audio Video, and wandered in, as the name did not ring a bell I met Chris Polen, and visited for a while talking about equipment etc. Chris came out to the house to bid the project, and he was quite knowledgeable about equipment, and the proper choices for the size room. (I still didn’t make the previous connection to Mike) Chris was quit punctual in presenting a bid to me, and I returned with my husband for a 3 hour session to listen, look and compare speaker sounds, screens, projectors, AVR’s etc. My husband was pleased with the professionalism of the company, the knowledge of AV equipment and the pricing.
I requested that I was on a timetable, and was assured it was feasible. It was at that point that Mike re-entered the picture as he remembered by name and house. Rather than a problem arising, both Mike and Chris saw an opportunity to work as a team to make the experience for the customer seamless. I worked with Mike on every detail and utilizing his experienced knowledge, we designed the perfect system for viewing and listening.
Every time I requested a slight change of specific detail, Mike’s answer was “no problem”.
Equipment was ordered, Mike gave a referral to me for some carpentry work, and my project was underway. John and Joey were dispatched to my home to so dome pre-wiring (and also to do some sound installation in another room for a separate project.) and I knew then I made the best decision to go with All Star Audio Video. The technicians (John and Joey are sound and video wizards! They truly work their magic, and are perfectionists when it comes to quality of sound and picture. During this month long process, Mike continued to update me via email about he equipment that arrived, and the dates they would return. During this time, I searched for theater seating, and found some online similar to the ones I sat in at All Star Audio Video.
Mike tired to match the online price and came close. I went with All Star Audio Video on the chairs even though they were priced a bit higher, because I know All Star Audio Video would take of any problems that would arise, as opposed to dealing with someone in Cyberspace; and I could contribute to the local economy as well.
My room is not complete with dark paint, gilded columns with vintage sconces, a stadium seating riser, and the most phenomenal sounding system that projects onto a 110 inch screen. If only All Star Audio Video could pop the popcorn, I would supply the Milk Duds! The timetable was met, and my family is thrilled with the results. My other request was to only have one remote control do to the work of three, and All Star Audio Video delivered. The remote dims the lights as the movie begins!
If all my home projects went this well, I would be extremely happy. I appreciate the commitment to quality form Mike, Chris, John and Joey, the frequent communications and updated provided, the professional manner displayed by all, and the desire of these gentlemen to pay attention to each and every detail.
Would I recommend them to friends and neighbors? My recommendations would be to just go directly to All Star Audio Video and not bother with anyone else. This company’s name suites them perfectly! AS I began this letter, the “stars” were perfectly aligned for me!

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my recent purchase of speakers and AV receiver. No only did you spend quite a bit of time going over my options, but after the sale service was exemplary. I had numerous questions on the operation and configuration of the receiver and your responses were very quick and accurate. I mad attempts to contact the manufacturer to get answers without involving All Star Audio Video Audio but their responses fell short of the information you obtained.
Your recommendation I purchase a less expensive receiver with the same feature as the one I originally wanted out turned out to be a great idea. The receiver I purchased actually has more features than my original choice including a huge difference of having TCP control in addition to RS232.
I have not purchased a receiver since 1996 and the modern receivers sold today are considerably more complex and really do require setup of many features. If there ever was a great reason to purchase locally instead of on the internet this was it. After the sale service in t his case more than made up for any discounts I may have found online.
Thanks again and I hope thing are getting to the point I won’t have any more questions.

I wanted to tell you how pleased we were with John and Joey when they came out to work on our MX300 remote and our Fireball. They were on time, nothing but professional, and they used the hourly time we paid for quite well. Our remote is working well, and after a dozen or more hours of playing music on the fireball the Fireball, it has not stopped once.

I am writing you this note to compliment Chris Polen and John Restrepo who spent the day yesterday at my house installing the equipment I purchased from your store. My first experience with All Star Audio Video was 7 years ago when Chris sold a television and surround system to me for my home. That system has traveled the world with stops in Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia and now returning to the U.S., it was time to upgrade for my new home (the old system has been retired to the upstairs game room to accommodate the Wii). The first and only shopping stop for my new system was again All S tar Video and it was a pleasant surprise when Chris recognized me from 7 years before.
The new system is now in the house and as expected, I am extremely pleased in the selection Chris helped me to make. I am even more pleased with the professional job he and John did with installing it. In fact they did such a good job that my wife is even happy!
You guys provide great equipment at a fair price with unbeatable service. This is the reason I was a repeat customer and I am happy to say that I will be back again the next time I am in the market for audio equipment.

You are set up to provide consumer information based on your own analysis of a business’s record for service and reliability. Your web site provides a place to register complaints. But, I did not see a way of filing a positive report on a company. Surely the happy experience of satisfied customers should inform the profile of a business. Therefore, I take this opportunity to praise a company for outstanding performance and hope that it might become part of the company’s service record.
I recently had occasion to replace a piece of stereo equipment. I called All Star Audio Video at 10615 Katy Freeway, where Mr. Allen gave me far more help over the phone than one might expect, especially for electronics. When I visited the store, Mr. Allen was busy and I was helped by Mr. Polen. Mr. Polen took great care to determine the status of my old equipment and help me select something that would suit my needs. When Mr. Allen was free, both he and Mr. Polen carefully explained the nature if the equipment that I was likely to need. I should add that it was immediately obvious to both of these gentlemen that I was not likely to be a high-end customer buying extraordinarily expensive equipment. They were friendly, helpful, respectful, and knowledgeable in a way that is all too rare.
But just to make sure that they were not just a smooth act, I stopped by circuit City nearby to compare models and prices. There I was (eventually – it took some time to flag down a sales person) met with the indifference and ignorance that is too common in mass market emporia. After doing a bit of hunting on the web, I was able to determine that no only was the unit recommended by All Star Audio Video suitable for my needs, but that their price was quite reasonable as well. I bought the unit and have every reason to be pleased with my purchase.
I should say that prior to this experience I had never heard of All Star Audio Video or met either of the two gentlemen who helped me there. I write this to commend a business for the extraordinary knowledge and care that they brought to the transaction. I would recommend All Star Audio Video to anyone interested in such equipment. It was a pleasure doing business with this company and a nice surprise to encounter a business where customer service and concern has such an obvious priority.
